I am sick of being taken advantage of. It seems that family never likes to be honest and just admit that they are taking you for every penny you've got, and instead like to to pretend with sob stories and so on. Why can't they just be honest that they just want your money?

Well you know what... they will stop if you just stop giving. Give them a sob story of your own LOL.

That is what my best friend did when she realized that these relatives just want to milk her for easy money.

I agree with Cookies and Cream, before they have a chance to say anything, you start telling them about your worries, even ask to borrow money, I assure you they will come around less.

Ha! That's just beautiful, I love it, thank you! I don't give any more, I learned my lesson a long time ago, but that doesn't stop them from coming around asking for money. I think you just made my life easier

Also by not giving them money you are helping them out by not enabling them. Once they can not longer milk you out of money they will resort to taking care of themselves. In the long run, you are doing them a favor by not giving them free money.
